The administration and faculty of the High School at HGBCS strive to connect with the student body spiritually, emotionally, socially, and intellectually. The High School is a community of a diverse student body of ninth through twelfth grades.
HGBCS is a Christian school where the spiritual culture is created through venues of daily Bible classes, monthly chapels, spiritual renewal week the integration of the biblical viewpoint through Kingdom Education.
The High School curriculum is designed to challenge the student to his/her maximum potential by focusing on core courses – English, Math, Science, History, Foreign Language, and Bible. In addition the High School has enhanced its college preparatory curriculum with the implementation of six AP courses and a full honors track, as well as a variety of electives (For additional information, please go to “Curriculum”).
The students of the High School are encouraged to participate in our fine arts and athletic programs. We currently offer an array of art classes, along with art shows, choir tours, band, and drama. Athletically, we have established programs with over 450 participants. Fine arts and athletics offer opportunities for students to continue to build harmonious relationships with their peers.
The development of our enrichment programs takes us to Europe and the Dominican Republic. The students have an incredible opportunity to reach out beyond their immediate surroundings.
To summarize, our staff desires that each child graduates from a secondary education program fully prepared and confident to pursue his/her future as a young adult. As an educator in a Christian high school, this requires more than course content retained to minimal standards and teaching the student to learn. Each student must not only possess the academic skills but also the emotional, moral, and spiritual maturity to flourish in our community and to glorify God.
